Riding Lessons
Riding Lessons are offered to children ages 3 and up as well as adults. Please check for weight limit. For all lessons, riders will be able to groom, tack up, untack, and possibly rinse off the horse before, and/or after based on when lesson is scheduled. Private lessons are offered for 30 minutes ride time, semi-private (2 riders) is 45 minutes ride time, or 3 or more riders is 1 hour ride time. Please allow for grooming/ tacking is before and after lessons. During a riding lesson riders will learn how to safely handle a horse while in the barn as well as the arena. Riders are taught to not only control their horse but their bodies while on the horse. Regardless of age and ability, strengthening exercises are a part of the riding lesson. Riding Lessons for all levels are available, from beginning to advanced, English (Hunt Seat or Saddle Seat) or Western disciplines. We focus strongly on equitation and pleasure riding.
Stable School
Stable School is a Educational Equestrian Youth Program to teach kids all about horses and horse care. It is a non-riding class that meets during school holiday breaks (Summer, Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring) as well as a few 1 day holidays such as President's Day, etc. Stable School is 4 hours in length, times will vary depending on the season. During Stable School, students have the opportunity to practice horse skills such as leading a horse, attaching cross ties, learning to tie the lead rope, grooming, tacking a horse up, untacking a horse, batheing, lunging a horse, etc. We also practice learning some horse basics such as parts of the horse, colors, breeds of horses, parts of the bridle and saddles, and basic terminology. We also try to occasionally have a visit from the farrier or veterinarian. Worksheets on several topicas are completed and a horse art or educational project as well.
Arabian Horse Training
Arabian horse training is available. If you have your own horse and would like to join the program, training in the following disciplines are available: Hunt Seat, Saddleseat, and Western Equitation and Pleasure.
Reading & Riding
Reading and Riding is a type of lesson for young children ages 3-7 who might enjoy learning how to read while riding a horse. We will practice reading letters, numbers and small words, colors or practice sounds while riding the horse. Horses have a magical way of enhancing riders speech, coordination, balance and brain development (as proven by Equine Therapy). This can also be available for special needs kids who need to practice their speech or reading skills. Please let us know if you are interested in this type of lesson. Basic riding skills and exercises will also be included. This is for Private Lessons only, no groups.

Charter Schools are encouraged to participate in my programs and funds can be used for Riding Lessons, Equine Science, and Equestrian Fitness, Stable School will need to be paid by the client. If an additional school is needed please let us know. The following Charter Schools are available:
Sage Oak Charter School

Horse Shows
Horse shows are something that many young riders aspire to. Here at KW Riding Club, beginner Mock shows are available, to ease kids into competition in a fun and safe manner. Local Shows or Arabian Horse Shows are available to participate in as the rider increases their skills and acquires their own horse to compete with. Horse shows can be a lot of fun, but hard work and determination are needed!
Equine Science
Equine Science is going to be a class for the slighty older, horse crazy kids that want to learn EVERYTHING possible about horses. This will be available for ages 7 & up. For Homeshcool Groups, this class will meet in weekly sessions for 6 weeks at at time, while The after school riding kids will meet at a separate time once a month.
Horse Safety
HORSE SAFETY is very important. Horseback riding is considered to be one of the more dangerous sports. Here at KW Riding Club, safety comes first. Riders of all ages are required to wear helmets at all times while handling a horse and riding a horse. Long pants and boots must be worn and will keep the rider safer while riding. But practicing good horsemanship, being aware of your surroundings, and 'Practice, Practice, Practice" horse safety skills at all times. These skills are often practiced during each activity, whether it's during a riding lesson, horse show or Stable School. Helmets are available for riders for the first few lessons until a rider can purchase their own. Gloves are also recommended, as they protect the rider if they fall. If a rider does fall, as it happens to the best of us at some point, riders are encouraged to get back on, and not give up. We want all riders and the horses to be as safe as possible at all times. For Safety reasons, Please note: NO DOGS allowed. Thank you for respecting the rules!
